    Unsaturated polyester resins

    KCC provides unsaturated polyester resin under the product name of “ORESTER”, which is designed to obtain the complex materials with low specific gravity and high strength, using fiber glass and filler as reinforcing agents. ORESTER is produced for wide ranges of purposes, from living necessaries such as water tank and bathtub to plants, high-speed subway, and aerospace materials. KCC makes every effort to contribute to the overall development of FRP industry by leading the market and introducing manufacturing methods of molded products.

    Summary

    A composite framework made by impregnating unsaturated polyester resin with fiberglass as the main stiffener, this semi permanent material is lighter than aluminum and stronger than steel. It also has excellent corrosion resistance, heat resistance, adhesiveness resistance and has a very high strength. It is a plastic product that is being widely used in all industries.

    RESINS FOR CASTINGS

    KCC’s resins for casting are designed to be suitable for the manufacture of various molds and cores. We supply various economic and excellent-quality resins for casting to the markets at home and abroad: “KOFRAN”, which is used in the shell mold process, “FAS-Q”, which is a quick hardening, self-hardening casting sand binder, and “COLD SET” for cold boxes of an instantaneous hardening type.

    Summary

    The Koresin SM-7100 Series are resins used as a binder to manufacture resin-coated sand that is used in the cold box shell mold process. Koresin uses a hardener like hexamine in the hardening reaction when heated. Its characteristics are as follows.

    Characteristics

    Our Koresin resin is made by mixing water and hexamine with silica sand heated at 130 - 160 and is used to manufacture RCS to produce the mold and core used in the Croning process.

    • SM-7124: KORESIN SN-7124 is a resin suitable for use where high bending strength and tensile strength are required.
    • SM-7170: : KORESIN SM-7170 is an all-purpose resin which can be used by most standardized customers.
    • SM-7170B: KORESIN SM-7170B is a quick hardening resin that shows high tensile strength and excellent peel-back resistance; it is uitable for use in the dump box process.
    • SM-7180: KORESIN SM-7180 has innovatively improved the collapsibility of molds or cores and minimized the corrosion of nonferrous casting making dies due to the additives that are added to impart collapsibility.

    Summary

    Koruran is a binder for manufacturing dies from cast iron and cast steel. It has the following characteristics.

    Summary

    FAS-Q, a Phenolic Urethane No-Bake Binder, is a quick-hardening, self-hardening casting sand binder. Compared to the conventional self-hardening binders, the molding speed of a mold or core is fast, so it improves productivity.

    • It has a wide choice of furfuryl alcohol and nitrogen.
    • The bench time for mulling sand (silica sand+main agent+hardener) is long, so the loss of mulling sand can be minimized during work.
    • The hardening speed is fast enough to show high exaction strength of a few minutes, so it contributes to productivity improvement.
    • Work time can be adjusted according to the addition of an accelerant and the selection of a binder.
    • The mold release between pattern and core box is good.
    • The odour generated during work is minimized, so it improves the working environment.
    • Because thermal expansion or contraction is small, you can get excellent castings.
    • It is easy to break up the sand after melt.

    Summary

    Cold set is a phenolic urethane cold box binder for the cold boxes developed by Korea Chemical. Because it hardens instantaneously by using amine gas, it provides high productivity compared with a no-bake binder. It provides many advantages (energy saving, scrap reduction, excellent surface processablilty, fluidity of silica and high productivity) in small automated factories to large factories. You get no defect, excellent casting products by using it to make casting products by using it to make castings of any kind of material, including cast steel, cast iron and light alloys.

    • CO-7250 has a bench time longer than CO-7201, but it is for high strength uses.
    • CO-7255 has a bench time that is much longer than CO-7250.

    Summary

    Koraset is an alkaline resin manufactured to be applied to the alphaset process. The product has many advantages compared to the conventional binder system, so it is a low-pollution, high-quality resin whereby you can get beautiful casting products by applying it to metal and alloy manufacture of any kind. It has a wide choice of alcohol and nitrogen contents.

    • It can be applied to all casing materials.
    • As it does not contain nitrogen or sulfur, the rejection rate is significantly reduced.
    • Since mold release is excellent, product quality is improved.
    • Sand cutting ability is excellent.
    • Storage stability of cores and molds is excellent.
    • Working environment is improved.
    • As it is a water-soluble resin, cleaning is easy.

    Summary

    Coveset is an alkaline phenolic resin manufactured to be applied in the betaset process. Coveset is mixed with silica sand to improve fluidity. It is designed to be suitable for use with a Shooterl for fast production of core and box less molds of high good strength. It is a low-pollution, high-quality resin whereby you can get high-quality castings and beautiful casting surfaces.

    • It can be applied to mold casting material.
    • Work efficiency is improved as it has reduced volatile hardener toxicity.
    • The rejection rate is reduced and working environment is improved as very little gas is generated during mixing and injection.
    • Excellent release.
    • Fair exaction.
    • As it is a water-soluble resin, it is easy to clean the equipment.

    ELECTRICITY INSULATING RESINS

    KCC is manufacturing and supplying insulating varnish that can improve electric insulation and heat resistance in small motors, generators, transformers, etc. We also have solvent-type insulating varnish made of a degeneration epoxy resin and no-solvent insulating varnish made of unsaturated polyester.

    Summary

    These products impart heat resistance and electric insulation by coating with a spray, settling and impregnating the motor, generator or transformer coils to improve the electric characteristics of electrical appliances, the performance such as heat resistance, make them small and lightweight, and improve reliability. We produce and supply solvent type and non-solvent type products, which are integrated into our "Insulating Varnish MV428" product range. Their classification is as follows.
