    Usually paints are applied for product finishing as the final step in the manufacturing process, but there is a method of manufacturing where units are pre-painted.
    PCM paint is applied to metal plates which are then cut, molded and assembled to make products. These metals are called pre-coated metal to indicate that it was painted before it was processed. The paint used for this purpose is called PCM paint. Since the material to be painted is a uniform flat plate, this painting process is very productive compared to that required to coat more complicated shapes.

    PCM paints are designed to be applied at high speed on the Continuous Coil Coating Line (CCL). Since the paint film thickness and application conditions are uniformly controlled, there is consistent high paint film performance – paint uniform in color, gloss, etc.
    Faster coating speeds are always in demand. Currently, the coating speed in South Korea is up to 120 M/MIN. Recent new installations have also increased the width of steel plates that we are able to coat. By using coated steel plates, the cost of pretreatment and coating equipment can be reduced and production improved. Consequently, recent trends prove the growing popularity of building material products and home appliances that use PCM steel plates.

    Summary

    In this country, pre-coated metal is used mainly as a building interior/exterior finish. PCM paints include polyester. Sllicone polyester and PVDF paints, but since the main use is for building interior/exterior finishes, it is not suitable for home appliances. Therefore, paints having high processability, in which the paint film is not damaged even under processing conditions involving complicated shapes, have become necessary. Especially, as the demand for home appliances has increased rapidly, the demand could be met by general spray paints, and the development of high-processability PCM paints for home appliances has become more pressing.
    Thanks to the efforts of our company's technical research team, we have developed high polymer polyester paints, and for the first time in this country, we have applied the coil cooling line so that we have become able to supply PCM for home appliances (refridgerators, ectronic range, washing machines, etc.) to the big three companies producing home appliances in this country. In particular we are applying high·hardness products by classifying them according to their use so as to prevent scratches generated during processing and handling.

    Summary

    If we structurally examine the buildings on which exterior finishing materials are used, we can classify them into high-class products for high-rise buildings and low-class products for low-rise buildings. For high-rise buildings, high weather resistance fluorine resin paints are used in consideration of the durability, maintenance and repair of the buildings; and the exterior appearance of the building is maintained through continuous cleaning. On the other hand, for low-rise bulldings,. the durability of the building was set low from the beginning, so the buildings have few cleaning and maintenance functions. Because of such characteristics, low-rise buildings are constructed using colored steel plates on which a coated polyester melamine type paint film with a low durability has been applied.
    But, in this case, the most important characteristic is the ability to maintain the initial appearance of the building in addition to the durability of a paint film and the prevention of stain penetration. In other words, even if contaminants settle on the constructed steel plates, a paint film with a self-cleaning ability strong enough to automatically clean them with rainwater is needed.

    Antistatic Paints

    Summary

    • With the advancement of high technology, it has become necessary for electromagnetic equipment to be protected from static electricity, and it has become indispensable in semiconductor production factories and operating theaters in hospitals to have dust removed efficiently.
    • The purposes are to prevent static electricity and dust attachment by imparting to the material the electric characteristics and protective colors of the paint film.

    Characteristics

    • A common synthetic resin paint is an insulator having a surface resistance of 10^1 Ω or higher; it does not have an antistatic function.
    • An antistatic paint has a surface resistance of 10^ Ω and conductivity of 10^ Ω on the paint film in addition to material protection and color imparting functions. So if steel plates are covered with the paint and used for a floor, wall, etc., they capture and discharge the static electricity generated by contact between the human body and the object so as to prevent attachment of dust and allow tor tts its easy removal.

    Uses

    • Semiconductor production factories, precision testing rooms, hospital operating theaters and clean rooms for anesthesia.
