    Fiber Glass
    KCC's fiber glass is a manufactured by low-alkali glass compositing under high temperature followed by the Bushing's nozzle process.
    KCC's fiber glass is strong, does not burn in fire, and offers excellent chemical resistance.
    Accordingly, it is used as a reinforcing material in FRP (fiber reinforced plastics).
    Because of its excellent electrical insulation, heat resistance and durability, the scope of its applications is very wide as it is used in electrical products, vehicles, parts for airplanes and other composite materials.
    In sum, it is a product with a high-utility value as the base material in new material development.

    Direct Roving's Characteristics

    KCC's direct roving contains approximately 800-4,000 filaments gathered into organic compounds to loon single stands (referred to as 'single end roving' because of its characteristic). Depending on the process, its uses can include weaving, winding and pultrusion. It is an E-glass type product designed tor the continuous process of molded items that require high strength. It has the following characteristics.

    1. 1. Sizing treatment for commercial viability with unsaturated polyester, epoxy, vinyl ester resin
    2. 2. Manifestation of excellent FRP characteristics with rapid resin impregnation and elegant surface
    3. 3. Minimization of fuzz during the manufacturing process and roving's excellent unwinding
    4. 4. Excellent strength of molded items and strands' spatial coherence

    Conventional Roving's Characteristics

    KCC's conventional roving is a product that uses approximately 200 filaments braiding together into one bundle {referred to as 'assembled roving' because of this characteristic).
    KCC's conventional roving has been designed for use in the production of bath tubs, vessels, and sewage disposal tanks that call for high FRP strength reinforcement. It has the following characteristics.

    • 1. Rapid resin impregnation and an elegant surface.
    • 2. Excellent strength of molded products and workability.
    • 3. Excellent chopping, dispersal and unwinding appropriate for processing.
    • 4. Excellent strength of molded items and strands' spatial coherence

    Conventional Roving's Product Types and Characteristics

    • 1. Spray-up: sprayed onto the adhesion along with resin while chopping (bath tubs and vessels).
    • 2. SMC: SMC sheets that are manufactured by molding materials into specific shapes through thermo-compression after impregnating fiber glass (that has already been chopped into specific lengths) onto resin (ceiling panels and water tanks).
    • 3. GMT: sheets that are impregnated thermoplastic resin onto needled glass mats (automotive bumpers).
    • 4. Panel: FRP panel strength reinforcement that requires transparency and a thin design.
    • 5. Headliner: production of automotive headliner sheets that require excellent dispersal.

    Chopped Strand MAT's Characteristics

    KCC's chopped strand mat is made of E-glass fibers that have been chopped into a specific length (normally 50 mm length) and bonded with an adhesive (normally "unsaturated polyester resin" powder). KCC's chopped strand mat has the following characteristics for increasingly excellent FRP molding

    • 1. Convenient laminate molding for hand layout and continuous molding.
    • 2. Excellent commercial viability with unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resin.
    • 3. Elegant surface after FRP work due to the excellent impregnation of the strands.
    • 4. Rapid resin impregnation, easy degassing work, and curved surface die.

    Woven Roving's Characteristics

    KCC's WR series of woven roving (a.k.a, 'roving cloth') is comprised of FRP manufactured glass fibers. These are made by weaving E-glass roving so that it can be of a specific weight by unit area.
    KCC's woven roving product offers the following characteristics to ensure excellent FRP molding.

    • 1. A sizing agent is used to facilitate hand lay-up work by applying unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester, and epoxy resin.
    • 2. Elegant surface after FRP due to the use of strands with excellent impregnation
    • 3. Easy handling and Cutting, and convenient degassing and curved die through rapid resin impregnation.
    • ※ Application : vessels, parts for airplanes, skis, sporting goods, refrigerated containers, and large-scale FRP molded items.


    The warp and weft are aligned so that they can form a simple criss-cross pattern, and it is a weaving method suitable tor materials that need to bear the same weight on the right and left hand side.

    Chopped Strand's Characteristics

    KCC's chopped strand is bonded by processing It with a special sizing agent to ensure that it is appropriate for each application. It is comprised of E-glass fibers chopped into specific lengths of 3 mm, 4.5 mm, 6 mm, 12 mm, and 24 mm to ensure that it is appropriate for the reinforcement of industrial plastic products or other products. It is used in a wide range of industrial FRTP, such as electrical/electronic parts, office supplies, vehicles, and machinery parts, and reinforces all types of engineering plastics, such as PA, phenol, PET PBT, PC, ABS, PP, and LCP, thus demonstrating excellent workability and mechanical properties.

    Chopped strands for every use are mixed with resin through the extraction process by using an extruder. Following this pellets of the product are formed. Then It is molded into the desired shape during the injection process. KCC'S chopped strand products undergo chemical coating with a coupling agent, film former, and antistatic agent to ensure the optimal properties for each application area of industrial plastics.

    Tissue's (Glassue) Characteristics

    Glassue is a non-woven fabric product, molded using sheets, produced by the wet forming process. It has a wide range of uses depending on the fiber's diameter, length, and surface area. However, it is mostly used for the reinforcement of sheet molding products. It increases the smoothness, surface glass, water resistance, and weathering resistance when used as a molded item's surface.
